Kaka’ako
Royal Elementary School:
Royal Elementary School has a rich history in Honolulu. Founded in 1839 as the Chiefs’ Children’s School, it was renamed, became a public school, and moved to its current location in 1967. For any home-buying parents worried about how their children will adjust to their new surroundings and new school, the teacher-to-student ratio is 13 to 1 – which ranks among the best in the district. In addition, the Kaka’ako neighborhood is a vibrant community, with a thriving art scene and plenty of culture – an ideal place to raise a family in Honolulu.

Highway Inn
Highway Inn is a Hawaii icon, renowned for serving up traditional Hawaiian specialties since its 1947 founding by Seiichi & Nancy Toguchi. During World War II, the Toguchis and their three children were forcibly moved to Japanese Incarceration Camps. Seiichi mastered his culinary skills while working in the camp’s mess hall, and in 1947, after returning home to Hawaii, he opened Highway Inn. Crowds soon began to line up for a taste of Toguchi’s cooking, and they haven’t let up since.

Honolulu Beerworks
In 2014, Geoff Seideman and his wife Charmayne opened Honolulu Beerworks, a neighborhood craft brewery in the heart of Kaka’ako. From the beginning they focused on using unique and locally sourced ingredients in the brewing process. Honolulu Beerworks now has an experimental and robust barrel aging program. https://www.honolulubeerworks.com/
